My father gave me my first camera when I was 8 years old. He also gave me some valuable lessons in how to use it, and always encouraged me to keep trying my best and in the process telling me all the things that came out right in my photos. I could not have been luckier in my lessons - he was not only a wonderful, loving father and friend to me, but also a professional teacher and an avid photographer himself. I did not realize until my adult years that the reason he didn't pursue his own dreams of photography had to do with selling all his equipment to support a young family of six, as he never told me this himself... yet he encouraged me to follow my similar dreams, and he was very enthusiastic and supportive in being involved with our business over the past several years.
